Impression Excellent. Skillful "bokashi" shading to grey sky, yellow moon, water, and foreground; "gauffrage" pattern to cartouche; nicely visible woodgrain in sky; crisp, highly detailed carving of individual hair-lines and other details.
Condition Nearly Excellent. Strong colors. (Only minor marks.) Original Japanese album backing.

Comments Hauntingly beautiful image. Komachi, the famous beauty and poetess of the 9th century, is seen later in life having become an old begger woman as she reflects upon the passing of her earlier beauty and fortunes.
