Impression Very Fine. Superbly executed "bokashi" shading; very finely carved details, crisp key-lines.

Comments A very "atmospheric" print, achieved by the skillful depiction of night lights. This Noute image pre-dates the well-known, nearly similiar 1939 Koitsu image. It is believed that the extremely fine lines seen in the "key-blocks" of Noute's prints may have, in fact, been produced using zinc plates. (Learn more.)
