Impression Very Fine. Skillfully executed "bokashi" shading throughout print; light "gauffrage" (embossing) to windsock and buildings; lightly visible woodgrain in sky; baren "sujizuri" tracings to street area; crisp key-lines, highly detailed carving.
Condition Excellent. Excellent colors. Clean front and verso.

Comments Beautiful rural streetscene-- "carp windsocks" are flown throughout Japan on May 5th in celebration of "Boy's Day." Reissued in 2007-2009 by Watanabe using their original woodblocks from 1948.
